This is a handmade etching and aquatint. I redraw my sketch onto a wax-grounded zinc plate with an etching needle before dipping it in acid. The exposed lines are etched, leaving deep grooves to hold ink. The plate is inked and pulled through the press for every print in the edition, meaning each one is unique.
